LABOE school reform transfers control to teachers.
Does anyone know what’s happening with the Los Angeles Board of Ed. reform changes?
I heard teachers will be running dozens of schools now, instead of a district or a charter organization managing them. Has this ever happened before? (Future CA Teacher)

I think its great! Teachers need to be empowered to make their own decsisions.

Let's be real. ALL L.A. schools are in trouble. LAUSD needs to get it together instead of dumping all of their problems onto overworked and underpaid teachers. http://www.dailynews.com/news/ci_14502410

I don't know if it has ever happened before, but I hope that it works. It could even be a model for other districts to look at in the future. Most teachers care about the success of their schools, and they know their students the best, so it makes sense to me. The only problem is that some teachers are not business-minded so they might make some mistakes with the administration side of things. We'll see.
